Patricia Sendeza

Patricia Sendeza studied Business Administration and Management Studies and achieved a Distinction at Advanced Diploma level. She is currently working in the Transport and Infrastructure Section at the European Commission Delegation to Malawi. Here she explains the benefits of obtaining an international qualification and how her studies with the ABMA has helped her career progress.

To what extent do you feel the skills you have obtained from your ABMA qualification are relevant in your role at the European Commission Delegation to Malawi?

Since I am working in an international organisation, the skills which I have obtained from my ABMA qualification are assisting me in taking on more challenges in my job. I am able to communicate with the outside world very well and I discharge my duties with confidence because I know that I have good qualifications and am able to manage things on my own very well without being supervised. My employer is also pleased to have well qualified personnel like myself.

What advantages, do you think, an ABMA qualification has given you in the job market?

ABMA has really helped me, in such a way that after completing my ABMA Advanced Diploma in Business Administration and Management Studies I am able to compete internationally when seeking employment. I also have the possibility of going straight into a Masters Degree with my ABMA qualification.

How do you think you and other students benefit from an international qualification?

International qualifications, especially the ABMA qualification from the UK, are very beneficial because they open up many doors for us to be employed both locally and internationally. It is also very easy for one to be exposed to the job market.

From your perspective, what are the main benefits of obtaining an ABMA qualification?

I am respected in society because I am regarded as a well qualified woman. My ABMA qualification gives me confidence in whatever I do, including in my personal life, because obtaining an Advanced Diploma with ABMA gave me the courage to believe that I can do anything in this world. The qualification has also urged me to think widely and not to put any restrictions on myself and my achievements. My journey still continues because nothing will hinder me with the ABMA qualification which I have obtained.

Would you recommend ABMA Diplomas to other students?

I would recommend ABMA Diplomas to other students because the material covered in the courses is very helpful and marketable in the job market and ABMA is a well recognised examination board which is working hard to make students in Africa acquire higher education without compromising on quality.
